Nashik : In 2026, under the leadership of Dr. Snehal Pinto, Director, Ryan Group and Gavin McCormack, co- founder of Upschool.co, Ryan International Schools demonstrated how education can extend far beyond classrooms. In partnership with Upschool and Grow- Trees, an inspiring initiative brought together 29,530 students to plant an equal number of mangrove trees in the Sundarbans.
Through the “Trees for Tigers” initiative, students did more than participate—they took ownership. Each
student actively contributed by raising resources through service, creativity, and community engagement. This transformed a simple environmental activity into a powerful lesson in responsibility, sustainability, and purpose.
The impact is both environmental and educational. Mangroves in the Sundarbans play a crucial role in protecting coastlines, preserving biodiversity, and supporting local livelihoods. At the same time, students experienced firsthand how their actions can create real-world change.
This collaboration reflects a growing shift in education—where learning is not confined to theory but is
deeply connected to meaningful action. By combining academic learning with global responsibility, Ryan International Schools and Upschool are setting a compelling example for the future. In a world facing urgent environmental challenges, this initiative stands as a reminder that education, when driven by purpose, can inspire not just knowledge—but transformation.
