Rasbihari International School, Nashik, recently organized National Post Day for students of Grades 1 to 5, with the objective of highlighting the importance of the postal department in our daily lives. The celebration emphasized how postal services help connect people across different parts of the country, deliver letters, parcels, and important documents, and support communication even in the digital age.

The program began with an engaging activity in which Grade 5 students performed a short role play demonstrating how the postal system operates and its role in serving society. They enthusiastically showcased the journey of a letter—from being dropped into a post box to its sorting and delivery—while also explaining the processes involved at the post office. The performance emphasized how, despite the rise of digital communication, the postal service continues to keep people connected around the
world.

The highlight of the day was the visit by Grades 1 and 2 students to the local post office, where they observed firsthand how the postal service supports everyday life and continues to run efficiently in today’s world. The students were curious and eager to learn about the purpose of postage stamps, their origins, and the meaning behind the images featured on them. They discovered that stamps often honor notable individuals, such as freedom fighters and athletes, who have contributed to the nation’s pride.
At the post office, students observed the post box and mail van, watched people posting letters, and learned how the post office also serves as a bank for the public. They witnessed the postmaster sorting letters, gifts, and parcels, and were introduced to the concept of PIN codes. They even learned the PIN code of their area and understood the importance of including both the code and a stamp when sending mail.

National Post Day offered students a meaningful opportunity to understand the functioning of the postal system and appreciate its historical and cultural significance.
